Phare: The Cambodian Circus Show in Siem Reap - Arriving at the big-top tent

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 1,925 reviews · from $18Our pick

Phare Circus in Siem Reap blends Cambodian stories, live music, comedy, and daring acrobatics while supporting arts education for local youth.

“Surpassed our expectations as far as talent and entertainment. Food trucks outside of the big tent provided a wide range of options at a reasonable price before the show. Seating was a little cramped, but didn’t detract from the enjoyment. We appreciated that no animals were used and the emphasis was on Cambodian culture and portrayed a story. The performers were incredibly talented and deserve all the support”

Review of Siem Reap’s Apsara dance show and dinner, with Khmer food, hotel pickup, practical tips, value, and what to expect.

“The food is amazing. We had a massive dinner buffet with everything you can wish for with amazing taste. The venue is beautiful. The show in itself is very original with local dresses and traditional moves and music. 7 beautiful ladies and 6 young men were dressed up in various Khmer costumes and danced slowly on local music. It was 50 minutes, 6 dances. If I can be honest, it is a slow moving show and some may perceive it as slightly boring. I think the overall experience is very nice.”

Review of Siem Reap’s Apsara dinner show, with Khmer buffet, tuk-tuk transfers, cultural context, value, timing, and practical tips.

“The Apsara dance show was expected to be really good, but we honestly didn’t expect the dinner to be this grand! In other countries we’ve visited, similar cultural shows with dinner usually feel like just a formality, with average food at best. But here, the whole experience felt special, the venue itself was fantastic, like a large restaurant and auditorium combined, with fine dining-style seating and a lavish buffet featuring both Khmer dishes and international cuisine. The food was excellent and really highlighted the depth of Cambodian flavors. The Apsara dance performances were absolutely gorgeous, rich with culture and tradition, and such a pleasure to watch. Even our tuk tuk…”

“Show and food was amazing. However communication from the agent was poor about pick up time. Plenty of confusion. Messaged agent or guide. No correspondence back. We had to ring the company to get further details. No response via message and inside the hours specified. Thankfully show and food was excellent.”

Review of Siem Reap’s Apsara Theatre dinner show, with Khmer dance, buffet food, tuk-tuk transfers, price advice, and practical tips.

“Great show! Dinner was served prior to entertainment, so it’s pretty long. Seating can be uncomfortable if your back is to the stage, but it is also more comfortable than the photos…under the tables the floor has a drop so you are not sitting just on a flat surface. Would suggest an upgraded menu option. Would have enjoyed more if it wasn’t so long. Beautiful performance.”

“The show itself was great! They do a great show here. The theater was beautiful. I was picked up on time by the tuk tuk however I didn’t know he was waiting for me because he never called. You guys need to give the drivers our phone number. The food was just ok and it was lukewarm. I definitely have had better local dishes in town this week. Also, my biggest complaint is that there was no buffet option. The description made it sound like you had a choice of the menu or the buffet however, the buffet was not offered at all. I was disappointed. It was so hot…”

“Muito boa organização, tudo muito eficaz e no horário. A sala é muito grande e, se encher (foi o caso), até parece que se vão formar filas no buffet, mas há um exagero de comida e variedade (local e internacional) e isso nunca aconteceu. TeRead more”
